Round of Sixteen
The Round of Sixteen is also called the "knockout" round. One loss and you are illiminated.
Also, there are no ties. Two fifteen minute overtime periods are played. NOTE: The is no sudden-death. The team that scores first does not always win. The second overtime period is still played if a team has a lead after the first one.
If the teams are still tied, the game will be decided by the most unpopular of endingd--"THE SHOOTOUT". This is universally dispised by the soccer world, but it is the only way to avoid playing on and on, thus increasing the chance of player injury.
Teams are only allowed three substitutions during a game, regardless of its length. A game with two overtimes would be 120 minutes long. Players are exhausted, particulary if the weather is warm, and the unpopular "shootout" is an humane way to finish.
